Donate to the Refugee Resettlement Project

As a Welcome Congregation with HIAS (Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society), Kane Street members support refugees through public advocacy, pro bono legal defense, English literacy tutoring, translation services and more.

For the next year, Kane Street and our partner congregations (Brooklyn Heights Synagogue and Congregation Beth Elohim) will also be directly assisting one refugee family resettling in New York City. We will cover basic living costs including housing, medical care, education, transportation, furniture and clothing.

Kane Street has made a commitment to raise $10,000 to help cover costs of resettlement. Help us reach our goal with your contribution today. Your donation will help us meet the critical, immediate needs of this family. Together, we will fulfill the biblical mitzvah of Ahavat Hager, loving the stranger.

If you have any questions, please contact Social Justice Committee Co-Chair Bronwen Haskel at
