It's Not Too Late to Get in on the Fun

Experiences are social get-togethers that we offer at our annual Trivia Night to help raise money to support our programming for kids and families at Kane Street Synagogue. We offer a set number of slots at each experience at a set dollar cost.

We have some spaces at some of the Experiences still available.

NEW EXPERIENCE 2018!
Poker Night

hosted by Seth & Laura (Kane Street Kids Family)
Thursday, April 26th, 2018, 7:15pm – $100 per person

Are you ready to go all in? Did you know Kane Street member Laura Fink is a former professional poker player! Join her and her husband Seth for this fun filled evening where they will share some of their card playing secrets. After a short lesson for both beginners and experienced players, we will divvy up the chips and play a full-fledged poker tournament. Winner takes all bragging rights, and a fun prize. The beer and buy in for the tournament are included in the $100 donation price.

Cooking With Gail (judge on Bravo's Top Chef)

Hosted by Marley & Gene and Gail (Kane Street Kids parents)
Wednesday, March 14, 2018 – $250per person 

Gail Simmons is an internationally known food writer, cookbook author and chef. She has served as a permanent judge on Bravo's Emmy-winning Top Chef since its inception in 2006. She will guide 8 lucky winners of this Experience in a private cooking class using one of the recipes from her newest cookbook Bringing It Home. Women's Steak and Scotch Night
hosted by Riva Bennett (Synagogue Member)
Saturday, December 1, 2018, 8pm – $180 per person

Hand over that Steak 'n' Scotch. Gourmet cook Riva Bennett hosts this lavish evening of grilled steak, single-malt Scotch and mingling at her home in Ditmas Park. You won’t want to miss out on one of the best social and culinary events to take place all year!


Men's Steak and Scotch Night
hosted by Ira Mayer (Synagogue Member)
Saturday, January 12, 2019, 8:00pm – $180 per person

Scotch, steak & community. Mix it up with fellow Kane Streeters at this evening of camaraderie fueled by great single malts and choice 24-ounce rib steaks. Chef for the night and butcher’s son Ira Mayer hosts at his home in Ditmas Park. A great night out for the guys

Beauty and Champagne

Thursday, April 12, 2018 7:00-9:00pm – $100 per person

Enjoy some bubbly while you learn tricks of trade to create beautiful makeup & hair. Learn how to create a flawless face in five minutes, a smoky eye, and up-dos and braids. Join Jillian Levy who was a wedding makeup artist, and Janet from the PERSONS OF INTEREST Salon for a fun evening of beauty!


Guided Craft Brew Tasting & Hearty Appetizers at Berg'n
hosted by Bill & Susan Rifkin (Synagogue Members) and Berg'n
Sunday, April 22, 2018 5:00pm – $75 per person

The guys behind the Brooklyn Flea and Smorgasburg opened this 9,000-sq.-ft. space featuring brews from local purveyors like Other Half, Sixpoint, Finback as well as other U.S. favorites like the Michigan-brewed Bell's. Sample half a dozen craft beers in the company of Berg’n’s beer master, along with some delicious snacks (veggie appetizers provided).


Wine Tasting & Dinner

Enjoy some of the best wine varietals selected by the staff of Heights Chateau with delicious hors d'oevres and dinner at the Brooklyn Heights home of Al Romano & Sandy Berman.

Kids Crafting Experience With Jordyn Jacobs

hosted by Jordyn (Hebrew School teacher)
Sunday, February 25, 2:30-4:00pm – $36 per child

Brooklyn Kids Crafts is a boutique children's art program specializing in textile and fashion craft, run by Kane Street teacher, textile and clothing designer, Jordyn Jacobs. On Sunday, February 25 (2:30-4:00pm), Brooklyn Kids Crafts will offer an exclusive Purim Craft Workshop to Kane Street families. Children ages 5 and up are invited to come create their own unique Purim masks using felt, fabric, pom-poms, trim, feathers, and more! Kids will learn basic embroidery and sewing techniques to help them decorate and assemble their masks.
